How to Recognize a Good Programmer

I found an article this morning that was from a guy that is a programmer and a businessman. It is an interesting read about how to determine who would be a stellar programmer and who wouldn’t. We all know that if you want your software business to succeed, you need to hire good people to write the code. It made me think of many of my programmer friends and I think they all need to read it too.

As an aside, CV means “curriculum vitae”, Brit speak for resume, although I believe there are still some differences.

EDIT:
As I was thinking more about this, many of these ides proposed in the article are pretty relevant with any technology position. I was thinking about myself as a non-programmer; I have many of the same “positives” that are listed, but in a different context. I have a LAN at home with a Microsoft Server and a Linux Server. I have more than one computer and I enjoy working / playing with technology when I get home from a day of doing the same at work. I have dabbled in many IT related technologies, so much so that many of my friends and co-workers (though by no means all) are now asking me my opinion before making a decision, even it is something that I am not an “expert” in.
