It doesn’t appear that I have to plan for a forced vacation (government shutdown) like I did two years ago. But, as part of the final minutes ran past, there were all kinds of crazy bills that got passed. WCCO has a Reality Check that lists the following:
• $75,000 for a fish cleaning house in Warroad.
• $50,000 for an Iron Range Dog Club.
• $75,000 to improve the Chisholm city baseball field.
• $150,000 for the now-closed Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth.
There are a couple others that are a bit “iffy”. You will have to read them to see what I mean.
Man, and I thought I was insane!
Hm, the Twins community fund and PlayBall MN has money set aside to rebuild rundown ball fields. The state (my employer as well) doesn’t need to spend cash on that stuff.
