I was reading my friend Lem’s blog this morning and came upon this:
“I’m willing to bet that our modern society has already passed the turning point where if you see a person talking aloud to themselves in a public area, you will assume they’re talking on a phone before you assume that they’re talking to themselves. This may be swayed by the observation of the person or the place (rich person in a plaza vs. poor person on a bus), but I’ll bet that most urban and suburban citizens will assume a cellphone, even if they cannot confirm the presence of a phone, before they assume a mental condition.”
Boy I sure hope this is true when it comes to me talking to all the voices in my head!
