With all of the talk of Barrels of oil being so expensive, I was curious to know how much gasoline comes from a barrel. After some research, I have come to conclude that the average amount of refined gasoline from a barrel of oil is about 23 gallons.
So, if a barrel of oil is $143 (as of Monday), then each gallon should be $6.22, and that is without all of the taxes and transportation costs. Wow, I guess when they say that future gasoline costs could hit well above what we are seeing now, they aren’t kidding.
Or is my math wrong?
