The state of Texas has an anti-spyware law and evidently, they have ruled that Sony’s rootkit violates said law. They can ask for up to $100,000 per incident and they are looking at taking the lawsuit national. That works up to quite a lot of money. Perhaps Sony (and other labels) will think twice about screwing over their customer again. It’s about time.
