This is a little long to start, but the result is pretty funny!

Police Reserve…
I was talking to a guy at work here who has been a police reserve for Roseville for 5 years. With my dad being who he is and doing what he does, I have police blood in me, so I got a little excited about the possibility of becoming a reserve officer.
There are a lot of benefits to doing it, least of all having a uniform! I think Becca may like that, but I haven’t talked about it with her yet so I guess we will see how far my “thinking about it” goes.
What does everyone else think?
Premium Fuels
I was asked a question yesterday about why I need to use premium fuel in my Acura. I only had half of the answer and not the why. It just so happens that Scientific America had an article on just this reason. If you have ever wondered about running premium fuel in your car when it doesn’t specifically require it or running non-premium when it does require it, this article should answer your questions.
Quiet Resolutions
I was just thinking again how interesting it has been since I started this site. It seems that after I started this, quite a few of the people that I know started a blog. I haven’t been that good about keeping updates going all the time, but I have been much better at it than most everyone else. What happened to Jen, Shauna, Roxie, Solly…? A few of them haven’t had anything put on them for over a year!
It makes me think of how many times we start something with great intentions to keep it up, and ultimately fail. Whether it be regularly working out, reading the bible on a daily basis, not going out to eat every day and other “resolutions”. I also am reminded of how lazy we can get when things seem routine and boring.
For this site I try to not only list whats “going on in my life”, but also random thoughts such as this one and videos here and there. Sometimes I find an interesting story that I think other would like to read too. I wonder how we can spice up other things that get routine…
My thought has kind of ended here even though it doesn’t feel like it is over. Perhaps sometime in the future I will have more to write.
Determining a Baby’s sex…
Reid, Nate, and I went down to Hastings today to see a friend of ours preach. In conversation with Jay’s wife, the subject of Reid and Holly expecting child came up. Jay’s wife told us a theory and suggested that she has never been wrong in more than 20 years. It supposedly tells you what the sex of your unborn baby will be based on two factors.
First you determine the month of conception. Then you determine the age of the mother at the time of conception. If both are even or both are odd, the baby will be a boy. If one is even and one is odd, the baby will be a girl.
How accurate is this?
