As you may notice from my calendar on the right side, we have our quarter-finals volleyball tonight. If we win 2 of those 3 games, we go on to the finals.

Last night was our semi-finals for our Tuesday night volleyball league. Our first match started at 6:30 and we played 3 games. We won 2 of the 3, which qualified us to move forward on the bracket and play another match at 8:30. We won 1 game and the opposing team won another. Then with the chance of going home, the Fisticuffs (with me serving) had a stunning come-from-behind rally that tied us at 23 each. I served again and we got another point. It was crazy. We were then told that it was win-by-two with a cap at 27. I went to serve for the win and choked in a major way. The ball had no spin and sailed long.
Since it was rally scoring, they scored a point bringing us to 24 each. We ended up going back and forth for antother couple of serves and side outs. Then with Biggie as our server, the score 26 to 26, he let loose one of the best serves of the night, causing the opposing player to misjudge and set the ball back behind her. Unfortuantely for them, she was already in the back row, so there was nobody that could get there.
The Fisticuffs are going to the finals next week! We play at 7:30 on Court 4. If we win 2 of 3, we play again in the championship.
I would like to thank Nathan (Biggie) personally for sacrificing his blistered foot for the good of the team. I would also like to thank Zgia for allowing herself to be run down by both Nathan and myself, and being okay with it.
