Ask for it and God will give it to you.

One of the questions that came up last night was if we are supposed to ask God for things and he supposedly will give them to you, (Ask and it shall be given unto you), what is to stop you from asking for something that is not good for you? Why does he not always give you what you ask for?

I actually had an answer to these questions, or at least partly. As your walk with Jesus carries you closer to God, your desires gradually change to be in line with God’s desires for you. So eventually, you will not be asking for something that is not good for you and God will be more likely to give you what you want, because it is what he wants for you.

That’s my little bit of spiritual wisdom for today…

Late Nights…

Wow, I have been up way too late the last few nights. Last night was perhaps the best of them though. I met up with Roxie, Scott, and Nate at Bentley’s to watch Roxie clean up at Poker. She was in first place for the round that ended last night and she wanted to make sure that she won.

I got there a little bit after 7:30, so I didn’t actually play, but Scott and Nate played. Nate did pretty well for most of the night. Roxie ended up getting another 15 points or something and finishing fourth for the night. She will get a plaque and she gets to go on to the next highest tournament.

At about 11:30, she was knocked out of the game, so we went to Perkins. We ended up having a really good conversation. It actually went very deep and I think we all got to know each other much better. We ended up leaving at around 2:30 I think.

I am so tired right now.

Christmas Light Show

I had seen this a few weeks ago and forgotten about it. Well, I found the original full video, so I post it now for everyone to see.

NOTE:
You should right-click (control-click on a Macintosh) and save it to your computer to watch it.

Grandma Wagner, revisited…

My mom got a call from my grandmother this afternoon. She is feeling much better than she has in a long time. She is coming home today and will be over here for Christmas celebrations tomorrow.

The Parent’s House

Last night I went over to Roxie’s to pick her up for church. I brought my luggage in my car for this weekend because after the service I brought Roxie to the airport. She is in Wyoming for the weekend.

The service was very good. It was the first Eaglebrook Christmas service that I have been to. I very much enjoyed it.

As we were walking out to my car, Roxie checked her cell phone and saw that there was 6 missed calls. All of them originated from her father’s cell phone. He called her back and asked that we stop at the house and get a DVD that he wants to show her grandfather. It added 15 or 20 minutes on to the trip to the airport, which we were already cutting a little bit close, but he really wanted it.

After dropping Roxie off at the airport, I started driving towards Osage, MN, the home of my parent’s. As I got out of the twin cities on 94, it started to get really foggy. I ended up driving in a fogbank probably 3.25 hours of the 4 hour drive. It normally is a 3.5 hour drive, so it wasn’t too bad.
