Club 3 Degrees

Last night I worked at the club for the Stryper concert. It was surprisingly good considering they were formed back in 1983.

After the concert, about 20 Eaglebrook Young Adults came down to help with “Late Night”. Basically, the club stays open until 4 AM to allow people getting ejected from other bars and clubs around to come in, have some cheap food, and sober up a little bit, as well as get some exposure to the love of Jesus.

It was my first “Late Night” and it was pretty cool.

Jonn needs…

My friend Lem just posted a list on his site about what came up when he searched for “Lem needs”. Some of it was kinda funny, so I thought I would do the same.

Jonn Needs:

I was asked what I typed to find these blurbs. I used google and type “jonn needs” with the quotes.

Lunch at Cravings

Becca and I went to Cravings (271 7th Street West, St Paul, MN) today for lunch to celebrate her birthday, which by reading the archives, one could gather was last Thursday. It is a small place that is slowly being renovated into an Italian style eatery.

We both had stuffed croissants. Becca had chicken salad and I had turkey. It was very good. Good enough that I would definitely go back.

I had a good time with Becca. Good enough that I hope that she would like to go out again. I can’t read her all that well though. Who knows…

Recent Events

Last night we tried to play kickball. Tim reserved a field over in Central Park near Victoria Street. We paid to have the lights turn on after dark, but they never came on. Some Roseville police officers even tried to contact someone to turn them on for us. Oh well.

After we left, we went to Fuddruckers and had some food and ice cream. Then most of us went to see Serenity. I liked it okay, but not as much as I hoped. I agree with Jeremy when he said that the movie did not stay as true to the series by taking itself too seriously. There wasn’t as much good natured humor and lightness. The movie itself was very dark and it tried to be too mysterious and yet, not enough. I didn’t like that they showed reavers. The series never really showed them. They only described them and let the viewer’s imagination assume a look. I also didn’t like how they didn’t really explain much about Shepard Book’s history. That and the fact that River’s big secret didn’t seem like that big of a deal. How did she find it out anyway? I will probably go see it again tomorrow with Joel and perhaps I will catch something I missed.

I woke up this morning a little bit later than I had planned. I had to work this morning at the new building. I saw some of where my new desk is, but there is still quite a lot of construction going on…

I was planning on going to Miranda and AJ’s this afternoon, but I had to work longer than I planned and I still have to go work at church tonight. It doesn’t make sense for me to drive all the way up to North Branch and only be able to help out for a couple hours before I have to drive back down to church.

Tonight is the first night of Eaglebrook Men’s hockey this season. It sounds like they are trying to get 4 teams together this year so we can have a kind of season. That sounds like it would be awesome!

Tomorrow I am helping Eric move. I have a Club 3 Degrees staff meeting at 1 PM.

On Monday I am taking Becca out to lunch at a newer place in Downtown St Paul called “Cravings”. Her uncle owns it and she said that the one time she was there in the past, it was very good.
