The Life and Times of The Partially-genius...

Yesterday morning I got a call from my pilot friend Nick. He was back in town for a couple of days and wanted to go to the State Fair. He also wanted me to meet one of his friends, Courtney. I got the feeling that he might want to set us up, but who knows. Anyway, I went over to pick them up at his parent’s house. He was right. She is very beautiful; Gorgeous brown eyes, longer straight dark hair, and naturally tanned skin. She was a fitness trainer, so she is very athletic and toned. She is also very smart. She has a degree from Hamline and is getting her masters from Bethel. She is an EBD teacher in Mounds View (I think that’s what she said). All in all, I would be very happy to get to know her more and see if we would be compatible.

So, after the fair, Nick had us back at his house to sit in the hot tub until the wee hours of the morning. I ended up not getting home until about 2AM. Anyway, on the ride back to Nick’s, she called her friend Corrinne (SP?). Corrinne was just getting done with practice. What kind? She is one of the new Minnesota Timberwolves Chearleaders! So here I am sitting in a hot tub with two beautiful women for 2.5 hours…

Unfortunately, this morning came way too fast. I need to take a nap.

Last night I played hockey again. I have a lot to get used to with my new pads. I have to unlearn 14 years or so of muscle memory. I would not have thought that there would be that much difference, but I am about a half-second slow with many of the attempted saves. I must be doing okay though because they still want me to play full time…

My allergies are kicking me upside my head. I do okay throughout the day, but as soon as I sleep for a few hours, I start having trouble breathing. I have menthol cough drops though and they seem to help open up my sinuses again. I usually have this kind of thing happen once or twice a year. Luckily, it doesn’t usually last more than a few days.

Yesterday I went to a driving range with Danah. It was fun. I was hitting pretty well. 300+ yards with my 1 Wood. I think I figured out the reason I slice so much too. I’ll have to see the next time I go to a course….

I decided to sleep in a bit this morning. I ended up playing hockey yesterday with JasonC and a guy from his work. That guy has a son who plays at Bethel and a daughter who plays for Roseville Highschool. They each had a bunch of friends there and they needed another goalie. I fealt that I did okay for the first half, but after that it was all downhill. I was not making any saves that I should have been making. I blame it on not being used to the pads!

Here I am, about 12 hours after the email. No response yet, but that is to be expected. She sent me a text message this morning about an unrelated topic, but she didn’t mention the email. I don’t think she has had a chance to read it. After all, she is not connected to the internet 24 hours a day, like I am.

I must confess that I have some anxiety about learning the truth. I don’t know that I want to know the answer if it is negative. In actualty, I do want to know the answer, but part of me would like to live in blissfull ignorance. But then again, that is not healthy. Besides, if her thoughts are positive, then nothing but good can come from it.
